This blog is more for me... I keep losing pictures of paintings, or even forget to take pictures of them, so I thought putting them in blog will help me keep all the pictures in one place and also will remind me to take records of them. But, for those who are visiting this blog for some reason, I will just tell you a little about me and my "stuff". I have never, ever taken any form of art education (I so wish I did!!) but have been doodling since I was a little kid. Evidence will be seen in all my school note books. As a mom, I no longer had school notebooks to doodle on, so my doodling continued on sketch pads and on to canvases. I really didn't care where my doodles ended up (storage?) but my husband liked them enough to insist them to go on walls. Friends who have visited my house liked my primative, doodle style and I have done some commissioned work for them.
I also have never touched any clay of any type till I took a free "mommy and me" clay class with my 6 year old at an old city Rec center. I loved the feel of clay, so I buy clay at a whole sale place and make things once in a while. I have fun with it, and the project gives me fun things to decorate around the house. Some of the funnest things I have made have broken (I have 5 kids and traffic of all their friends in this house.) And I wish I had taken pictures of them!!! I have done couple of commissioned work for some friends, also. If you, for some reason, made a consious decision to spend couple of minutes on this blog, well, I hope you will enjoy them. Sanae

A family who got into frog catching in Ohio!! 2009
For our Christmas Card. 2004
Painting of kids playing at the bunny fountain. 2006
For a family who loves their garden. 2008
My kids making a mess in the kitchen. 2004
For a mom who loves cooking and baking for her family. 2008
A friend who was daring enough to ask for my first commissioned work. Her cat.
They're all so great! Jamie does look like herself in the painting! I love it. And you're right--the baby in Emily's picture really makes it complete. Such great stuff! Can't wait to see what's next!
Janet said... I didn't know that you had done so much!! Stay with it. How about becoming the send Grandma Moses (but don't wait until you get to be her age). Katsuya is not home now; I will catch him later. You are going to be a professional.
I love all of them. The couple in front of the pool is GORGEOUS! and the frog catching looks like such fun, the fox is fantastic. Your "ten virgins" painting is one of my very favorites of all, it is so beautiful! It makes me wish I could paint.
I love them all. The background details are great. You've become a prolific painter for someone with such a busy schedule. That I am in your first commissioned painting is a life-time highlight.

ReplyDeleteI could tell who everyone was in every painting. :) That's such a talent you have and I'm astounded that you have never taken art classes.
